My name is Ryan. I'm a seventeen year old female from Colorado Springs. I have lived here for about four years now, but I'm originally from the central coast of California (Arroyo Grande, Lompoc & Nipomo. I've lived in all). Even though I grew up on the coast, I was born in Valencia & lived in Palmdale. Most of my family still lives there, so I like to go there during summer or Christmas vacation. I have green eyes with really cool little brown specks around my pupil, which was passed down from my mom. I'm about 5' 3" (or so it says on my driving permit). I have long, light brown (actually turning a redish color) hair. I'm spoiled but I don't act like it (most of the time that is). I'm the youngest & most people feel that is the way I became spoiled.
My family consists of four people: My mom, my dad, my brother & me. We have two cats, Samantha & Erica & a silky terrier, Bubba. Our two cats were born wild. Samantha's leg was ran over by a car when we lived in Arroyo Grande so we brought her in & took care of her ever since. Erica's mother was hit by a car when she was just a kitten so she needed to be bottle fed for a few weeks. My aunt took her in, but shortly after gave her to us. Bubba was found when we lived in Nipomo. My mom was coming home from work about 3am, he was wondering across the street. When she stopped to pick him up he just jumped in the car & came home with her. We tried to find his home but never found his owners.

Almost a year ago I met someone that means the world & more to me... my twin flame & soon to be fiancee. He & I are so alike it's almost scary... get us together & there will be mayhem. We think alike & usually end up saying or thinking the same thing at the same time, which makes us more than soulmates. Think what you want about the whole thing, he and I have read a book on soulmates & learned that we are more than just that. I have heard mixed reactions about all of this. He came & stayed with me for a week in July & it was great, he came back the beginning of November, then again in February and now his plans of moving here to Colorado are his #1 priority and will be moving in April 2001. ^_^

As if you didn't know, my nickname is Nabikchan. I was given that name by friends, they all agreed that I act most like Nabiki from Ranma 1/2. The suffix chan means little or cute (If you have seen Ranma then you know this), so I'm little or cute Nabiki. I removed the second "i" in this name simply because it sounds better than Nabikichan. I have also been refered to as Fuu-chan, from Magic Knight Rayearth. Since my move here, I have found a love in anime. I had seen it before but I never knew what it was till I got here. So far I have seen about sixty-five different series of anime mixed between dubbed, subtitled & even pure Japanese. There are some series that I like the dubbed ones better than the subtitles, but that is kinda a rarity. I have also read a lot of manga especially of Ranma. I haven't read all of the manga in English yet, but I'm trying. I have only read 1-7 & 9-12. 13 was released, but I haven't picked it up yet. My friend, Angie has both (8 & 13)but I didn't want to read them from her, I want to own it. I have original Japanese manga as well as the Americanized versions, most of which are Ranma (25,26,28-31, 36-38) but I also have one of Magic Knight Rayearth.
I guess the reason why I enjoy Ranma so much is 'cause of the humor. I enjoy humorous anime more than I do the serious ones. That is why I like the Ping Pong club. It is extremely perverted, but I find it very funny. The Slayers is another good series because of how funny it is. Rayearth & Fushigi Yuugi seem to be the only real serious ones that I like & will buy. I like Dragon Ball Z but not very much. I can sit & watch it but I don't "love" it. Pokemon is cool but I don't go outta my way to get up & watch it, the few times I have I recorded it so I can watch it again later. I have seen almost every Ranma tape released in the US (Up to Happy's Heart at least) But I have seen the entire rest of the series in Japanese, in fact I own them.
The Rocky Mountain Fanimation or RMF for short, is a great group of people that get together to watch anime that hasn't been released here in America yet. The sad thing is, the only people that usually go to the meetings are the people who started it in the first place. The groups regular showings include: Rurouni Kenshin (Fansubbed), Galaxy Fraulein Yuna (pure Japanese), Ranma (pure Japanese), Rayearth (fansubbed), You're Under Arrest (pure Japanese) & many others that haven't been seen here (most of which are in Japanese). I'm sure that you can find a similar group near you, if you search hard enough. I really should start going to the meetings again but so many things have been coming up lately. Most are school related so I can't help it, but hopefully with summer here I can get out to them.
The Lucky Neko (Colorado Springs only anime store) has been running within the RMF group as well as one of the conventions up in Denver (Nan desu kon) for a while, but now they have their own store that is open for everyone. The first time I went to Nan desu kon, I bought a few really cool things from them & when I saw that they were located in the Springs. I wanted to know where their store was, but only last November did I find out that they didn't have a store yet, but one was comming soon. I'm so enthusiastic about the store opening, but I still haven't been up there yet, I haven't had the money for anything & I didn't want to tease myself. My brother is a big connection to the store so I get news about events from the store & the RMF. He knows the owner really well & is friends with most of the people running the RMF. Hehehe because of this, I get lots of business cards & pens that are really neat.
Anyways, back to me (Jeez didn't that sound conceited). My main hobbies are: Watching anime, reading manga & fantasy books (Dragonlance), drawing (mostly anime style), singing & listening to music; mostly Japanese, I also like Madonna & Will Smith, hangin with my friends, video games, & talking on the internet (my reason for having AOL IM & ICQ) if you have either of these I wouldn't mind talking to you.
I'm a big fan of video games. I mostly like RPG's, but I also like the Sonic ones no matter how old they are or how much people say they suck. I don't have a Playstation but I would like to get one soon with the re-release of Lunar: The Silver Star Story. At least my brother has one & has the game, so I won't miss out on it. I have a Sega CD. I don't care how old it is, I still love it & the three games I have for it: Sonic CD, Lunar the Silver Star & Lunar Eternal Blue. I have two Super Famicom games that I play on my Super Nintendo a lot. I have the original Japanese version of, what is in English, "Hard Battle" & Super Battle (Ranma fighting games).
I have been told by many that my drawings are quite good. Only now have I really built up enough pride to show them off. Only a few of the characters are my own. I have more, but I don't want to show them. My darling Dais will lead you there if you wish to see them.
My singing is quite good as well, but I do not see it as highly as my drawings. I have been in the school choir for five years & the sweet harmony group, but that was only this year & I'm not even in the yearbook for it. Even though I was humiliated last year for being the only tenor (soprano), I'm going to give sweet harmony a second chance. I have been in contests for the past three years & I have at least one medal for each (6 medals so far, 2 excelent & 4 supirior ratings). I assume my love for music comes from my mom. She used to always sing to me. I will sing to anything as long as I know the words which usually takes about two times of hearing it. I learn quickly & am quite good at oral recall. In other words I'm able to hear something only a few times & be able to repeat back what I heard accurately.
